Portable Furnace Periscope
The water cooled Furnace Periscope has proved
invaluable in the glass, ceramic and electricity supply industries
where, in the interest of safety and fuel economy, regular inspections
of the interiors of furnaces and glass tanks, kiln linings, burner
blocks, burner and flame conditions, etc., is essential.
Simple to use, reliable and portable, the Furnace Periscope can
be used in all locations where suitable apertures are available.
The focusing eyepiece allows viewing from close up to infinity.
With a field of view of approximately 33° the periscope is designed
to give both direct-forward and right-angle viewing.
The Furnace Periscope has a large depth of field and can be supplied
in 1, 2 and 3 metres overall length. It is generally used with the
following attachment to facilitate report writing on site:-
• Camera 1/2" CCD monochrome or colour
• Recorder frame by frame and still mode
• With audio facility
• Head worn microphone
Dimensions
The diameter of the periscope is 41.3mm and the standard effective
length is 1220mm.
Other lengths can be made to order.
Weight
The approximate weight of the standard periscope is 5kg.
Cooling Supplies
Depending on the furnace temperature and depth of insertion a clean
water supply of 12-20 litres per minute is required.
A clean air supply of 0.11-0.14 cubic m per minute is also necessary
to purge the viewing aperture.

Process Control Monitoring Systems
Monitoring systems play a vital role in maintaining
quality in continuous production processes.
Introvision have worked closely with a number of major manufacturers
of materials to develop bespoke monitoring systems, particularly
for Harsh environments, including production processes involving
molten materials at temperatures in excess of 1000oC
These Specific-to-task systems employ camera systems, advanced optics
and cooling systems to enable continuous monitoring of product properties
such as temperature and surface finish.
